Ground Based Movements

Balance

Balance requires practice. For additional stabilization as you walk, step forward on the balls of your feet first then drop your heels.

Bear Crawl / Bear Shuffle

Bear Crawls are a forward walking movement on all fours with focus on weight in your hands. Bear Shuffle is a lateral movement variation.

Crane Step

Crane Step is a combination of a precision and kickstop. It utilizes your top foot to mount the surface and your lower foot to stop your forward momentum.

Gap Jump

Consists of jumping between two obstacles using an appropriate parkour take-off and landing. The gap distance and height are variable.

Landings (ROM & Tap-Out)

Range of Motion (ROM) landings focus on resisting the ground upon landing in a squat-like position. These landings are best used for straight up and down jumps.

Tap-Outs utilize hands to push your body back up upon landing. These are used for jumps that have some forward momentum.

Mounts

Safety Mount. Kong Mount. Frog Mount.

Mounts are used to get from the floor to the top of an obstacle.

Parkour Roll

Shoulder roll. Dive roll. Side roll.

Known as forward roll or shoulder roll, the parkour roll is a breakfall focused on rolling across one shoulder to the opposite hip. Used to distribute force from a drop and protect your head and spine.
